Dinner and Bingo at the Hospital Hospitality House
We have confirmed the date for the RPA volunteer event to provide and serve dinner then officiate over an evening of bingo at the Hospital Hospitality House located at 612 E. Marshall Street in downtown Richmond. As a reminder, the Hospital Hospitality House provides lodging for patients and their families who are receiving treatment at area hospitals. On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, RPA, through its executive board and members, will provide the food and volunteer services needed for an evening of food, fun and bingo and perhaps a few surprises! Anyone wishing to participate should contact Lee Ann Wilson or Linda Richards at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can call Lee Ann at (804) 783-6768. We will be serving dinner at 6:00 p.m. so will need volunteers from 5:30 p.m. forward to assist with set-up then service with the event ending by around 8:30/9:00 p.m. We need to plan on providing food for 40 people which is now planned as chili (turkey or chicken, beef and vegetarian), salad, bread (rolls and/or cornbread), dessert (cookies and cupcakes) and drinks (2 liter bottles of soda and possibly tea). We are hoping to have enough volunteers that the food production and onsite service can be divided among several people. If you want to participate, we would appreciate your letting us know by September 26, 2014 so we know how to divide up the tasks in preparing and/or buying the necessary food. For those providing food, we will need to have a list of ingredients with us since some of the attendees will have dietary considerations. If you purchase food, that information should be available on the packaging. If you are preparing something yourself, just bring a copy of the recipe and that should be fine. There is a parking deck located next to the facility where we will be able to park.
We are hoping to spotlight what should be an evening of fun, memories and service to our community at the November 18, 2014 Annual Meeting at Conch Republic Rocketts and hope to have lots of member volunteers for what should be a very wonderful evening.
Thanks so much!
Linda Richards and Lee Ann Wilson
