2021 CALL TO SERVE
2021 Declaration of Candidacy
It is that time of the year again! An important election at that…………no, not that election we keep seeing on the news, the RPA election! I hope you will take a moment out of your busy day to consider joining RPA's board. Behind a successful organization is not only a fabulous group of members but an amazing board. RPA needs your wisdom and energy. I ask that you please review the attached Call to Serve (Access Button Above) and submit your Declaration of Candidacy (Access Button Above) via U.S. Mail or email (see document by accessing button above for mailing address and email address) on or before October 1, 2020. If you have any questions about volunteering and participating on the board, please reach out to me or one of the board members. The RPA board is a team of phenomenal paralegals and we are all eager to have you participate and get involved.
I have missed seeing everyone at our lunch/dinner CLEs, the seminar, and miscellaneous socials that we had planned in 2020 but unfortunately had to cancel. Please stay safe and I look forward to seeing everyone in person soon!
Stay tuned for more information about our annual meeting, which will be by Zoom, in November.

Mission and Purpose
The Richmond Paralegal Association (“RPA”) is a non-profit corporation organized December 8, 1982, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
RPA's mission is to foster professionalism, continuing legal education, public service and networking for paralegals in Central Virginia.
RPA members are from metropolitan Richmond and surrounding counties.
RPA members benefit from network opportunities, continuing education programs, an employment job bank, On The Record quarterly newsletter, affiliation with the National Association of Legal Assistants (“NALA”) and the Virginia Alliance of Paralegal Associations (“VAPA”), and much more.
RPA encourages all members to take an active role in their profession by volunteering in the community through Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society. Through participation in these programs, members find opportunities to network with local attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, and community leaders while gaining invaluable real world experience.
RPA supports new paralegal development at many levels, offering student memberships, providing scholarship opportunities for promising candidates, offering a mentor program to help recent paralegal graduates make the transition from school to successful employment as a paralegal, and hosting a CLA/CP study group to assist members in adding credentialing to their profession.
For the most up-to-date information on RPA membership, volunteer opportunities, upcoming events and activities and our job bank, please visit each page of our website.
